The ninth edition of Filming Italy – Los Angeles, taking place February 26 -29  in Los Angeles and on Mymovies.it, will have among its stars prolific actor and director Franco Nero, who will receive the Filming Italy Los Angeles Lifetime Achievement Award. For the occasion, Filming Italy will screen some of his most popular films, such as: Sergio Corbucci’s Django (1966); Luciano Fulci’s Il ritorno di Zanna Bianca (1974); Simone Petralia’s Giorni felici (1988); Damiano Damiani’s Il giorno della civetta from (1968); Paolo Consorti’s Havana Kyrie (2019); Marco Bellocchio’s Marcia trionfale (1976); and Forever Blues directed and starring Nero (2005).

Director Matteo Garrone, whose latest movie Io Capitano has just been nominated for Best International Film at the 2024 Oscars, will also be honored, together with its young leading actor, Seydou Sarr at a special screening of the film.

The Festival ambassador will be Ilenia Pastorelli, talented performer in award- winning movies such as Gabriele Mainetti’s Lo chiamavano Jeeg Robot and Carlo Verdone’s Benedetta follia.

Among this edition’s highly anticipated guests: Marisa Tomei, will receive the Filming Italy Los Angeles Women Power Award; Benedetta Porcaroli will receive the Filming Italy Los Angeles Women Power Award for her latest film Enea; Riccardo Scamarcio will receive the Filming Italy Los Angeles International Award; Ginevra Elkann will receive the Filming Italy Los Angeles Best Director Award for her film Te l’avevo detto; Giacomo Gianniotti will receive the Filming Italy Los Angeles International Award; Ashley Greene will receive the Filming Italy Los Angeles Women Power Award; Danny Huston will receive the Filming Italy Los Angeles International Award; the Manetti Bros. will receive the Filming Italy Los Angeles Best Directors Award for their film Diabolik – Who Are You?; and the new Miss Italy Francesca Bergesio, who will receive the Filming Italy Los Angeles Made in Italy Award by Cotril. In addition, RAI Cinema CEO Paolo Del Brocco will receive the Filming Italy Los Angeles Best Producer Award.

A special thought this year will be dedicated to the Festival’s great friend, Sandra Milo, a unique and unforgettable artist, whom we will remember with the screening of the restored film L’ombrellone by Dino Risi.

This year the Festival will be again also on MyMovies.it, with more than 60 titles promoting Italian cinema, TV series, great restored classics, docu-films and short films first works by female directors.
