exhibit > Fashion Panorama – The Italian New Wave

FP Postcard (6 x 4 in)

Fashion Panorama – The Italian New Wave is more than just an exhibition: it’s a journey through the landscape of contemporary Italian fashion. Curated by VOGUE Italia for the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, this traveling showcase spotlights the visionary perspectives of 10 carefully selected brands. Chosen for their unique vision and innovative approach, these designers are revolutionizing traditional craftsmanship, language, and production techniques, shaping a dynamic narrative of fashion and modern Italy.

In a world in which it is increasingly difficult to find shared collective narratives, fashion is emerging as a primary means of constructing identity. It is a phenomenon that is taking shape in Italy in a particularly significant way due to the cultural weight that fashion itself has in the fabric of the country. The selected brands, by reinterpreting traditional craftsmanship in a new way, adopting innovative languages and production methods, shape not only a new idea of community, but of Italianness. The exhibition therefore aims to take us behind the scenes of their very personal universe, to understand the path that led them to express themselves through the language of fashion and, in doing so, tell the story of Italy today.
