special event > 22nd Annual Week of Italian Language in the World

A yearly worldwide celebration of the Italian language and creativity. This initiative was born in 2001 in cooperation with the Accademia della Crusca. It is organized during the third week of October by the Embassies, Consulates, and Italian Cultural Institutes around the world, under the High Patronage of the President of the Italian Republic.

The theme chosen for the 2022 edition is “Italian Language and the Youth.” The program in Los Angeles includes Secret Fires, a contemporary dance performance in celebration of #Pasolini100, produced by Compagnia Artemis Danza/Monica Casadei (Oct 18), a conversation with renowned author Dacia Maraini (Oct 19), the return of the music festival HITWEEK with concerts by Diodato and the duo Roberto AngeliniRodrigo D’Erasmo and a photo exhibit by Henry Ruggeri (Oct 19-20), as well as special evening with 2021 Poetry Slam Chamption Giuliano Logos (Oct 29).
