Umberto Eco, the Middle Ages, and The Name of the Rose

A symposium dedicated to the Italian novelist, literary critic, philosopher, and semiotician, also featuring a screening of J. Jacques Annaud’s The Name of the Rose (1986, 130’). Semiologist Paolo Fabbri will be guest speaker.

Organized by University of California Los Angeles Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies (UCLA CMRS) in collaboration with the IIC, with the support of the Armand Hammer Endowment for the UCLA CMRS.
