This presentation by Dr. Shelleen Greene (UCLA’s School of Theatre, Film & Television) will examine the trope of whiteness within Fellini’s first color film, The Temptations of Doctor Antonio (1962), arguing that the film’s setting within the EUR, or the Esposizione Universale Roma, allows for a meditation on Italy’s colonial legacies.
Organized by the University of Arkansas in collaboration with the Consulate General in Houston and the Italian Cultural Institute in Los Angeles, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Federico Fellini and the 20th Week of Italian Language in the World
