A special evening of canzoni and arie by composers such as Bellini, Mozart, Gluck, Donizetti and Tosti, performed by students and recent alumni of the USC Thorton Vocal Arts Department under the musical direction of Dr. Lisa Sylvester, on the occasion of the 25th annual Week of Italian Language in the World. This year’s theme is “Italophony: Language Beyond Borders” (Italofonia: Lingua oltre i confini), highlighting the importance of the Italian language as a vehicle for culture and identity that reaches beyond geographical boundaries.
