Ottorino Respighi was, after opera master Giacomo Puccini, Italy’s most famous composer of the 20th century. He used the modern orchestra to evoke the world around him with cinematic sweep and Technicolor vividness.
Creative Chair John Adams will conduct violinist Leila Josefowicz and the Los Angeles Philharmonic playing The Fountains of Rome and The Pines of Rome by Respighi as well as an acclaimed new composition by Adams.
