Over the past weeks, our gallery has traced how drones, photogrammetry and laser-scanning are transforming Volterra’s newly discovered Roman amphitheater, alongside other medieval landmarks and later additions, into precise 3D models that advance research and guide restoration. The closing night of Visions of Volterra pairs a final viewing of the exhibition with the première of Voices of Volterra, a short documentary by Marcus Aubin that follows the citizens, researchers and technologists working to safeguard the city’s fabric and spirit. After the screening, Tristan Randall, Strategic Projects Executive for Autodesk’s AEC division, will join the director on stage to discuss how digital tools can help protect cultural heritage from the growing challenges of time, climate change and natural disasters, and to share the many voices driving Volterra’s preservation and rebirth.
