Italian-Swiss Movie Night

Screening of the Italian-Swiss film Finding Camille (Cercando Camille, 2017, 1h 33m) and the short film Invisible Trajectories (Traiettorie Invisibili, 2010, 14m).

The Swiss-Italian director Bindu de Stoppani is back to talk about father-daughter relationships in her second feature film, Finding Camille, presented at the 12th Rome Film Fest as part of the Alice nella Città section.

“When dutiful and loyal Camille (Anna Ferzetti) decides to go on a road trip down memory lane, with her Alzheimer’s suffering father (Luigi Diberti), in order to hang onto his fading memory, she must learn to let her father go, or risk losing her own chance at a life and happiness.”

The Swiss filmmaker Luc Walpoth, who will be in attendance, has directed the short film Invisible Trajectories shot in Italy.

” I have already travelled for years without ever departing from here. I watch the deserted countryside go by. I see cities and villages, silence and laughter. I am on a quest, searching for stories. Mine, hers. Those in which we are together. Where encounters with solitude and love abate the stories.”

In Italian with English subtitles.

Organized by the IIC and the Consulate General of Switzerland in Los Angeles on the occasion of the Week of the Italian Language in the World.
