Meet two innovative collaborators using the power of DNA to transform medicine and prevent disease. Filmmaker Francesco Carrozzini will share his story and inspiration for the Franca Fund, his mother and late editor for Vogue Italia Franca Sozzani and Dr. Robert Green, professor of medicine, will present scientific evidence supporting preventive genomics. Attendees will also hear about what types of information they can learn from their own DNA to truly personalize healthcare.

The Franca Fund was named in honor of the late Franca Sozzani, iconic long-time editor of Vogue Italia. Established in 2018 with Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School the fund was created to help prevent diseases by leveraging genomic information and cutting-edge precision medicine.

Dr. Robert Green is a professor of medicine (genetics) at Harvard Medical School, and a worldwide leader in preventive genomics. Dr. Green has led the scientific field in generating evidence for the medical, behavioral, and economic utility of preventive genomics. He directs the BabySeq Project, a first-of-its-kind research study exploring the best ways to use genome sequencing in routine pediatric care to keep babies healthy. In his clinical practice, he provides evidence-based genomic evaluations for individuals seeking to anticipate and prevent future illness.

Francesco Carrozzini is an accomplished filmmaker and son of the late Franca Sozzani, iconic long-time editor of Vogue Italia. Francesco has partnered with Dr. Green to create the Franca Fund, which supports preventive genomics research and honors the legacy of Franca, a creative, pioneering woman who revolutionized the fashion world and challenged us to do the same in medicine. Most recently he helped launch a Zara clothing line with 100% of proceeds donated to the Fund.
