installation > The Planetary Garden by Pietro Ruffo with Noruwei

The original video installation by Italian artist Pietro Ruffo in collaboration with the creative production studio Noruwei, is an immersive experience that will be part of DIVERSEart, the non-commercial platform of the annual LA Art Show. Curated by Marisa Caichiolo, this year the program features nine interdisciplinary projects that examine the climate crisis – with a focus on water and drought.

The work, titled after a book by the French philosopher Gilles Clement and featuring a large-scale drawing by Pietro Ruffo, is presented as an analysis of the landscape, which highlights the changing character of what seems “naturally” present. The alternation of different climates has designed the environment as a carpet woven with dark and rough shapes along with alternating light surfaces.

Video produced with the support of the Italian Cultural Institute in Los Angeles.
