Fare Cinema is an inititive of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to promote quality Italian cinema and the Italian film industry. It is organized in collaboration with MiBACT, ANICA, ICE and Istituto Luce – Cinecittà.

Launched in 2018,  Fare Cinema aims to organize events dedicated to Italian cinema all over the world, to make the crafts and quality of the Italian film industry known and valued abroad.

Due to the health emergency from Covid-19, this year Fare Cinema will take on new form, with a series of contents (master classes, video lessons, short films, commercials, videotour) available from June 15 to 21 on the RaiPlay platform. The 2020 edition will have as its key moment the day of 20 June 2020, World Day of Italian cinema.

In the centenary year of their births, Fare Cinema will also celebrate the iconic figures of Federico Fellini and Alberto Sordi.

These two important protagonists of our cinema are also remembered in Los Angeles by the Italian Cultural Institute together with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) with exclusive video materials that will be available on the Institute’s YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/iicla ) on Friday 19 June. This special content will be introduced by Lorenzo Soria, President of the HFPA and Luca Celada, HFPA Board Member and Restoration Committee Member.
