Donald Osborne: Transatlantic Style, Una Storia d’amore di Pinne e Cromature

In anticipation of the 16th annual Italian Language Week in the World with the theme of Italian and Creativity: Brands and Traditions, Fashion and Design, Donald Osborne, the author of Transatlantic Style, Una Storia d’amore di Pinne e Cromature, will give a presentation of his automotive design book celebrating American and Italian creativity along with special guests who include Don Williams, President of the Blackhawk Collection and Stewart Reed, Department Chair of Transportation Design at Art Center College of Design.

What precisely is Transatlantic Style in automobile design and why is it important to identify and celebrate it? The term is symbolic of a very important creative exchange between Italy and the United States at a time of unparalleled creative and industrial activity as the automobile completed its transition from a toy of the wealthy into the transformative technological artifact of the 20th century.

The book will also serve as the inspiration for the upcoming exhibition of the same title premiering at the Museo dell’Automobile in Torino, Italy (February – April, 2017), followed by its American opening at the Blackhawk Automotive Museum in Danville, CA (July – September, 2017).

Osborne is seen as host of a recurring segment, Assess & Caress with Donald Osborne on the CNBC Primetime show Jay Leno’s Garage. An Editor at Large for Sports Car Market magazine, Donald’s writing on classic cars has also been published in The New York Times, BusinessWeek Online, the Wall Street Journal, Art & Antiques, Palm Springs Life and Road & Track among others.

Organized by IIC & Italian American Chamber of Commerce West Los Angeles.
