Every Saturday night, all summer, Italian Films with English subtitles will be screened outdoors in San Diego Little Italy’s Amici Park amphitheater (Date and State streets) through August 27th.
The Malavoglia family is living through a period of political change following the country’s annexation to Italy. The family’s inexorable slide is triggered by the decision of Padron ‘Ntoni to buy a cargo of goods on credit. The ship carrying the goods is caught in a storm at sea to dramatic consequences.
