Cinema Little Italy: How Strange to be Named Federico by Ettore Scola

Every Saturday night, all summer, Italian Films with English subtitles will be screened outdoors in San Diego Little Italy’s Amici Park amphitheater (Date and State streets) through August 27th.

Ettore Scola’s affectionate tribute to his friend, Federico Fellini. A magical trip through movie history with re-creations and film clips that recount impressionistic scenes. Scola distills the inventiveness of his beloved colleague.

This year the great director Scola passed away. Having made close to 40 films in 40 years, his work was both prolific and insightful, offering interpretations of Italian society. Scola’s work as a director and screenwriter has left an indelible mark on the history of cinema.
