Being Leonardo Da Vinci by M. Finazzer Flory: Los Angeles, UCLA | Leonardo 500 | Week of the Italian Language in the World

Part of director/screenwriter/actor Massimiliano Finazzer Flory’s tour of the Southwest organized by the Italian Cultural Institute in Los Angeles to celebrate the 500th year of Leonardo da Vinci’s death with select screenings of his award-winning film. Finazzer Flory, the film’s writer and director, also plays the role of da Vinci in his unique documentary that takes viewers inside the mind of this genius of the High Renaissance.

The film will also screen in Albuquerque (October 14), Santa Fe (October 15) Las Vegas (October 17), and Orange County (October 20) in collaboration with Italian Festivals of New Mexico (IFNM), Tourism and City of Santa Fe, Casa Italiana Las Vegas, UCLA and Bowers Museum.

“Being Leonardo” was produced in 2019 in Italy in collaboration with RAI Cinema, with the patronage of the National Committee for the Celebrations of the 500th Anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci’s death. (80 minutes; English subtitles).

The screening is organized in collaboration with UCLA Center for Medieval & Renaissance Studies (CMRS) during the conference Leonardo da Vinci, Inventing the Future presented by CMRS, the UCLA Cardiac Arrhythmia Center, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, and Caltech.
