The evocative Italian short film “MUTRION” will have its North American premiere at the prestigious AFI Fest. The 20-minute film is directed by Marco Cavazzin, a director and screenwriter who graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. This project marks an important milestone for the filmmaker, officially marking his debut as the director of a narrative short film. The story revolves around the adventures of Marco, the protagonist nicknamed “Mutrion,” who decides to return to the lagoon community he had fled years earlier. In this picturesque setting, his reunion with a dear childhood friend sets off a series of events that stir up old ghosts and dormant memories, powerfully revealing just how deeply his roots and connection to the lagoon still run within him.
