Maureen Michele Melita, National President of the American Association of Teachers of Italian (AATI) and Senior Lecturer of Italian at Marist University, has been invited as keynote speaker for the professional development course “Promoting and Teaching Italian: Tools for Educators between Policies and Practices,” taking place on October 24, 2026, at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles.Designed for teachers of Italian at all levels in California and beyond, the course will focus on contemporary teaching methodologies and the promotion of the Italian language, while also providing an opportunity for professional exchange and networking among Italian-language educators. Hosted by the USC Department of French and Italian, the program will bring together educators and experts engaged in the teaching and promotion of Italian.
