An annual public name reading of the Jewish Italian victims of the Holocaust and a commemoration for the Jewish composer Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco. Dr. James Westby, who received his Ph.D. in Historical Musicology from UCLA with a dissertation on “Castelnuovo-Tedesco in America: The Film Music” will introduce the musical tribute which features Elisabetta Russo (voice) accompanied by Ines Thome’ (guitar) e Federico Ferrandina (guitar). Russo studied at the renowned “S. Cecilia” Conservatory of Music in Rome and has performed all over North America and Europe. Thome’, a German-born classical guitarist, is a multi-instrumentalist who performs internationally as a solo and chamber musician. Fernandina graduated in Classical Guitar and Composition. He produces and arranges music in different genres: orchestral, jazz, tango and pop/rock. Following the musical tribute a commemorative ceremony will take place with the family of Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco in attendance.
