Fondazione Inda nel Teatro Greco di Siracusa presents 2020 PER VOCI SOLE from July 17 to August 30 five of the six shows staged at the Greek Theater in Syracuse live and on delay free streaming.
For the first time in a century, the National Institute of Ancient Drama will broadcast for free shows at the Greek Theater, both live and on delay for a week after the performance, from July 17th to August 30th.
As a result of the Covid-19 emergency, the Greek Theater of Syracuse enters the third millennium opening up to a planetary audience.
The first appointment, Friday July 17th at 20:30 CEST/ 11:30 am PDT, is Da Medea a Medea with Lunetta Savino, live music by Rita Marcotulli directed by Fabrizio Arcuri. It will be followed on Saturday July 25th by Franca Valeri’s La vedova Socrate starring Lella Costa, directed by Stefania Bonfadelli.
Saturday August 8th Laura Morante will bring on stage four heroines, Phaedra, Antigone, Clitennestra and Lena, from Marguerite Yourcenar’s Fires, live music by Rodrigo D’Erasmo and Roberto Angelini.
On August 22nd, Isabella Ragonese will stage Ghiannis Ritsos’ Crisotemi with live music by Teho Teardo and Laura Bisceglia and Giovanna Famulari on cello.
Finally, on Saturday 30th August, the Romanian artist Mircea Cantor, Prix Duchamp 2011 whose works are owned by the main international museums of contemporary art, will present the world premiere of The sound of my body is the memory of my presence, a site specific performance that will involve the students and teachers of the Art Academy of Ancient Drama in a highly symbolic impactful ritual on the return to life after the pandemic.
