REMEMBERING THE PASINETTI BROTHERS

Following the success of the two day conference Le Parentele inventate: Letteratura, cinema e arte per Francesco e Pier Maria Pasinetti in Venice, the Institute presents a round table discussion on the Pasinetti brothers, two important personalities of the Italian and international art and cultural scene, coordinated by Luigi Ballerini, professor at UCLA Department of Italian. Considered a seminal figure in Italian cinema, Francesco Pasinetti (1911 -1949) wrote the first history of Italian filmmaking in the late 1930s. Pier Maria Pasinetti (1913-2006) was a novelist, professor and journalist, as well as a screenplay writer. He started teaching Comparative Literature and Italian at UCLA in 1949. Event organized by this Institute in collaboration with UCLA , Department of Italian.
