Fare Cinema 2022: Italian Screens The short films of the David di Donatello Awards 2022

As in the most recent editions, again this year the finalists of the “Best Short Film” category from the David di Donatello prize, whose award ceremony was held on May 3, participate in Fare Cinema. Thanks to the collaboration with the Accademia del Cinema Italiano and ANICA, from June13 to 19 the films can be viewed from all over the world on the MyMovies platform.

Winner of the Best Short Film award was Nico Bonomòlo with Maestrale, an animation short that tells the journey of a man fighting between reality and dreams. The theme of the journey is also depicted in Pilgrims, by Farnoosh Samadi and Ali Asgari, which tells the story of the desperate “pilgrimage” of two children to find their mother. Tommaso Santambrogio and Valerio Ferrara, directors respectively of L’ultimo spegne la luce and Notte romana, instead face the theme of the couples and relationships, certainly never easy and never predictable, often undermined by internal misunderstandings or external hostilities. Finally, Camilla Caré’s Diorama broadens the analysis of relational dynamics within the family, recounting the tragedy of a family destroyed by its own neuroses.

Five different points of view, but all able to offer important points of reflection on life, its purpose, the people who enter and leave, the fear of losing and the hope of finding.
