book presentation > Gianrico Carofiglio presents Three O'Clock in the Morning (2021)

Gianrico Carofiglio presents the English edition of his novel “Le tre del mattino” (Einaudi 2017), during an online tour coordinated by the IIC Los Angeles on the occasion of the 2021 Italian Language Week in the World.

Antonio is on the brink of adulthood, still figuring out who he is and who he wants to be. His father, once a brilliant mathematician, hasn’t figured much in his son’s life since his divorce from Antonio’s mother. But then a diagnosis of epilepsy and hope for a cure take father and son to Marseilles, a city that melds French old-world charm and modern-day bohemia.

The October 19 event at 1 pm PDT is organized by the Italian Cultural Institute Los Angeles with Los Angeles Public Library in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute San Francisco. Moderated by Wendy Horowitz, Los Angeles Public Librarian, Photo Collection.

Streaming live on the IIC Los Angeles Facebook page and the LAPL's YouTube channel and Facebook page.

Carofiglio will also present the book on October 21 at 1 pm CT  in an online event organized by the Consulate General of Italy in Houston in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Los Angeles and moderated by Alessandro Carrera (University of Houston); on October 23 at 11 am PT in an online meeting introduced by Antonella Dell'Anna (Instructor School of International Letters and Cultures, Arizona State University) and moderated by Olivia Grasso, a student of Italian who is carrying out a research (Honors project) on the author, also organized in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Los Angeles.
