Enzo Favata: Jazz music in the Mediterranean | Online Workshop

Join musician and saxophonist Enzo Favata for the online workshop Jazz music in the Mediterranean: The magical melting pot and Italian jazz musicians.

There are many ways in which the sounds, accents and influences of musical heritage have flowed into expression and the path of Italian jazz musicians active today in the Mediterranean area. A union characterized by personal attitudes and contingencies that reveals, however, the need to unite, to find positive solutions aimed at the synthesis of elements and listening.

Favata will talk about this special sound, how it has been able to change and develop in the musical and cultural panorama in Italy.

The workshop will be set up as a radio broadcast open to participation from attendees. Favata will develop with a narrative path, crossing the experience of Italian jazz linked to the Italian and Mediterranean ethnic heritage.

Participants will listen to music, see films and hear Enzo telling the story of his Italy and Sardinia, of the Italian musicians who have been able to walk the tortuous path of Mediterranean and European jazz, far from the concept of jazz in the USA, but equally fascinating.

Enzo Favata is a jazz composer and researcher from Sardinia and among the best known international musicians of Italian jazz. Maverick, rebel, always far from the mainstream but capable of attracting the attention of the public and critics with his music, performances, soundtracks.
