Join us for a thought-provoking celebration of Italian food culture, featuring talks by influencers, scholars and chefs, and access to a tasting pavilion with the best from local Italian restaurants and food producers.

Italy’s Taste Ambassador to the US Barbara Pollastrini, famed chef Bruno Serato and celebrated butcher and restauranteur Dario Cecchini headline the upcoming Food & Culture: An Italian Perspective event at Chapman University.

The event will include a series of TED Talk-style presentations by celebrated chefs and restauranteurs such as Barbara PollastriniBruno Serato and Dario Cecchini (featured on the Netflix series Chef’s Table) combined with the perspectives of food studies scholars such as Zachary Nowak, the Associate Director for the Center for Food & Sustainability Studies at the Umbra Institute in Perugia, Italy.
Topics of discussion include the culinary relationship between America and Italy, Italian regional cuisines, family food traditions, and feeding the poor and homeless with pasta.
Immediately following the indoor presentations is an outdoor tasting fair on the Aiken Plaza facing the theater, inviting spectators to explore local Italian vendors and restaurants.
