Italian Design Day 2018

Second edition of the special intiative launched by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to promote contemporary Italian Design in the world.

Organized by the IIC and the Consulate General of Italy in Los Angeles in collaboration with American Institute of Architects.

PRESENTATION by Antonio Verde, Consul General of Italy in Los Angeles

REMARKS by Massimo Catalani, Ambassador of Italian Design. Trained as an architect, the Roman artist has chosen painting as his medium for works focusing on sustainability.

EXHIBIT OPENING Delineo: Italia Bellissima meets Valerio Berruti. Featuring works by regional ceramic and textile artisans selected by architect Andrea Capellino and site specific art created by Berruti.

PANEL DISCUSSION on Sustainability and Design. With artist Valerio Berruti, architect Andrea Capellino, curator of Italia Bellissima, artist Massimo Catalani, Ambassador of Italian Design, designer Francesca Garcia-Marques, and Elena Pacenti, Dean of the School of Design at New School of Architecture & Design in San Diego. AWARD CEREMONY Massimo Catalani, Andrea Capellino and Valerio Berruti will receive the IIC Creativity award celebrating Italian excellence in the world.

 

AIA will hold the conference 2°C: A COTE AIA|LA Symposium on Climate Change on March 2 in Downtown Los Angeles, the Ambassador of Italian Design Day Massimo Catalani will participate.
