Maestro James Conlon, music Director of LA Opera, will give a special presentation introducing a screening of Giacomo Puccini’s Tosca (2010, 127 min). The 1978 Metropolitan Opera production will be screened, featuring Luciano Pavarotti as the lead and Maestro Conlon as conductor of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and Chorus.
LA Opera will open their producion of Tosca on April 22, which will run through May 13, at the Dorothy Chander Pavillion featuring Baritone Ambrogio Maestri as Police Chief Baron Scarpia. Conducted by James Conlon. Co produced by the Houston Grand Opera Association and the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
