ITALIAN LANGUAGE CERTIFICATION<\/strong><\/div>\n

The Italian Cultural Institute of Los Angeles offers an opportunity to take the official exam for the Certification of Italian as a Foreign Language (CILS)<\/strong>, administered by the Universit\u00e0 per Stanieri di Siena. All tests are produced and evaluated by the Centro CILS of the University for Foreigners of Siena.<\/p>\n

April 16, 2026<\/strong>: A2, B1 C (for citizenship applicants), and B2.

June 18, 2026:\u00a0<\/strong>A1 standard, B1 standard (not for citizenship applicants), B1 C (for citizenship applicants), C1 and C2.

The test is held at the Italian Cultural Institute (1023 Hilgard Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90024) and you must attend in person.<\/p>\n
There are other institutions, approved by the University of Siena, where more test dates might be available.\u00a0Please check\u00a0this page<\/a>\u00a0for an updated list of approved CILS exam centers.<\/p>\n

Since the number of spots is limited, registrations will be accepted on a \u201cfirst come first served\u201d basis, and priority will be given to applicants who never registered before.<\/strong> Therefore, you may pay the exam fee only after your enrollment has been accepted.
\nAn email containing information on fees and payment methods will be sent to the registered candidates.<\/p>\n

The exam fee cannot be refunded or used for the following exam sessions unless the session is cancelled by the IIC LA.<\/li>\n
Once you sign up for a test, you will not be allowed to register for future test dates until you\u2019ve received your score.<\/li>\n
Enrollment requests received before the enrollment start date will not be processed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n

TEST RESULTS<\/strong><\/p>\n
\u00a0Candidates will be given a document containing their registration number and a link to the test result page.<\/p>\n
For level B1 (valid for citizenship application), results are usually available in 45 days; for all other levels, results are usually available in about 3 months.<\/p>\n
Please note:<\/strong>\u00a0The Institute does not know when results will be published online, or if you passed the test.<\/p>\n
